3 Things Thursday {Week 13}

Sometimes you come across reads or videos that are too good not to share. This week I will be sharing some of my favorite recent finds via the internet.

If you are new to 3 Things Thursday and would like to learn more check out my initial post about it. For directions on how to link up, follow the post!

http://hellogiggles.com/bff-thirties-30s I loved this read because it was bang on. As you get older, being best friends doesn’t necessarily mean talking every day. I have some girlfriends that I don’t talk to for weeks or don’t see for months – not because I don’t want to but just because circumstances are such and life gets in the way. When we reunite it’s as if no time has passed. I treasure my girlfriend time. I recently came across the hash tag #womenneedwomen and could not agree more. We need each other for support, for venting, for the laughs, to teach us lessons and everything else in between.

Sorry, not sorry.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/18/pantene-not-sorry-shine-strong_n_5507461.html?ncid=fcbklnkushpmg00000046 Have you guys seen this video? If not, first stop to think about how many times in the day you say “sorry” for things that you really aren’t sorry for. After watching this video I realized I use sorry sometimes as a filler but not because I am truly apologizing. I’m not sorry for trying to get the cashier’s attention who is yapping away on the phone, or for needing someone to move over on the sidewalk while taking my daughter to the park in her stroller or for needing help with something while ordering construction materials for the house. It really got to me that we say sorry for things that we should really just be speaking up for not feeling bad for. Sorry, not sorry.

So, when’s your next?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/the-stir/8-things-never-to-say-to-_b_2768143.html Although this article was written a little over a year ago I can SO relate. Right now we are enjoying our time with Little Mirchi and haven’t planned the whens or ifs of expanding our family. It always seem’s to get me when people are pushing to find out when you are having your next kid. Last time i checked only you and your significant other were the ones in charge of your family planning. Or this great except directly from the post that people seem to think they have the right to say: “Oh, you ‘don’t know’ cause you haven’t had your second one yet.” Don’t know? Don’t know what? I know exactly what it’s like to be a mother. Last time I checked, one kid is all you need. HA. Yes this. I have heard this or “oh you only have one kid wait til you have more”. What? Why? Read, share, repeat and next time someone wants to know when your next kid is coming, invite them to your family planning meeting. 😉 lol

Now it’s your turn! Share your blog post in the link up below. Just a few rules (well requests really). Please link back to one or all of the hostesses; Nisha from Love Laugh Mirch, Raj from Pink Chai Living, or Salma from The Write Balance, and share a link to your post (not your blog’s home page). Feel free to use the 3 Things badge in your post. We’re looking forward to reading your posts!

  1. Thanks for the reading suggestions. The whole ‘sorry’ thing was brought to my awareness a long time ago (I don’t remember how) and now I make a conscious effort not to apologize for everything, even though it slips out sometimes. Often I replace the sorry with an excuse me and it works well.

  2. Oh my goodness Nisha, I love all 3 of these! I read the first post and thought – you are definitely one of my BFF’s 🙂 Also, the whole sorry thing is even worse when you are Canadian! Saying sorry is part of our culture.
