HAPPY TWO YEAR BLOGIVERSARY!

Can’t believe it’s already been two years since I started this blog & how many amazing people I’ve met because of it. In the past two years this blog has evolved from documenting the construction of our home, learning to cook, and now sharing my pregnancy journey. It still seizes to amaze me how diverse and wonderful the blogging community is. Your input has been inspirational, I appreciate your comments as there is no better feeling than when someone says they’ve tried and loved one of your recipes! I look forward to continuing to share our journey & recipes. Again – THANK YOU! Now we can’t have a celebration without a sweet treat + and a bonus a giveaway! {See below for details}

Cardamom is one of my favorite spices. I can’t think of a more aromatic, sensual spice that enhances the flavors of savory & sweet dishes. Cardamom + Cinnamon = well that’s just a match made in tastebud heaven! These sweet little Cardamom Cinnamon rolls are wonderful when served with a cup of masala chai! I drizzled warm Nutella on them but they are great plain as well.

Ingredients

¼ cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon fine sea salt
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed but cold
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted and cooled
¼ teaspoon roughly ground cardamom

3 tablespoons Nutella

Method

Pre-heat the oven to 400°F. Mix together the sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and salt. Unroll the sheet of puff pastry. With a pastry brush lightly brush pastry sheet with melted butter. Spread sugar-cinnamon mixture on pastry sheet evenly. Use the remaining butter to grease a 12 cup muffin tin. Roll up the sheet of puff pastry into a log & cut into 12 cinnamon rolls. Place one roll in per muffin cup. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Using a butter knife, lift the cinnamon rolls out of the muffin cups and onto a wire rack to cool. Meanwhile heat Nutella in microwave for 30-40 seconds until thin. When rolls are cool, drizzle chocolate over the top of the cinnamon rolls.

Recipe yields about 10-12 rolls.
